Alsek River Transport Services
We provide service transporting your rafting group and gear from the Alsek river takeout to the Dry Bay runway. We also offer day trips to the Ocean beach and fishing trips on the East river. If you have a group that is taking out on the Alsek contact us for availability.
Hello From Dry Bay, Alaska!
Alsek River Adventures is a transport service located here on the Alsek river, ready to assist in your transportation needs in Dry Bay. There is no longer a channel that will flow to take you to the river rafter campground and Dry Bay runway as there once was. Alsek River Adventures is permitted by the Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve to transport the Alsek river rafters from the Alsek river takeout to the River Rafter Campground area and the Dry Bay Runway. In addition to transport services we offer our lodge as a place to stay after your trip and before your journey home.
It’s nice to have a comfortable, warm, and dry place to spend the last night in Dry Bay. Our lodge is full service so you’d be taken care of and your gear could all be flown back to Haines on the day of your takeout. We have everything from meals to hot showers!
Our lodge is open and available for select dates in 2025. Send us an email if you are interested in overnighting at the lodge before your trip back home.
We also offer beach trips, eco tours of the Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, fishing trips on the East river and during the salmon run we can arrange for you to take Alsek river sockeye salmon home with you.
We understand there are many moving parts when doing the Tatshenshini/Alsek river raft trip. We would like to help make this part of planning your trip one of the easiest ones. We have gathered some information for you that we feel may be helpful when needing our transport services.

The Transport Process
Contact us via email or phone.
Arrange an exact time you will be broken down and ready to transport.
Please note that the time we schedule to transport you will be relevant on when you are departing Dry Bay. If you are departing the same day or the following day that will change the time we will need you to be broken down and ready to transport.
If you do overnight in Dry Bay we do offer trips out to the beach. Beach trips are a great way to end the trip If the weather is nice.
We would advise you to have a way to communicate while you are on the raft trip. Common communication devices are the Garmin Inreach or Zoleo that you can use to text or send emails or a satellite phone.
It Is very helpful for us to hear from you the day before you have a transport scheduled with us. That way we know you are on schedule.
In the event that you are not on schedule we will have to work together to let your pilot know you will not be on time.
We will do our best to be in contact with pilots in regards to weather conditions in Dry Bay.
We live 10 miles from the rafter takeout. It takes us 30 minutes one direction to get up to where you takeout. Please notify us if you are going to be early.
Drybay is extremely remote, we do not have communication unless we are at our cabin with our satellite internet on. Everything is off grid out here just the way it was on your whole trip. If you need picked up early or are running late chances are if you are last minute on notifying us theres a good chance we won’t get your message. Please be patient.

Duck Hunting
Sept 1st - October 10th
Drybay is part of the Lost Coast of Alaska. Nestled right on the Pacific Flyway, we are privileged to witness the incredible migration of thousands of birds each season. If you're interested in adding bird hunting to your fishing adventure, just let us know! You're also welcome to join us exclusively for waterfowl hunting—it's an experience you won't forget. We maintain a selective approach to our hunting guests each season, which means we conduct interviews to ensure a good fit. If this sparks your interest, we look forward to hearing from you.
